location

SUNDANCE is situated in Laynes Road, 50 yards away from the wonderful stretch of palm fringed golden sand of Paynes Bay on the prestigious West Coast. Parasols and sunbeds, drinks and snacks are readily available on the beach.

It is an unusual area, there is a tiny church on the corner and further up the hill there are traditional Bajan chattel houses mixed in with stone built villas. Palm trees, bread fruit trees and hibiscus and all sorts of tropical plants abound. Beachside across the road the local fishermen sell their catches early evening , bars and restaurants are all within walking distance.

The bus stop is across the road $1.50 takes you anywhere accompanied by lots of smiles and sometimes deafening reggae music! Holetown is a few stops where you will find an excellent supermarket, cafes and shops, banks and The Post Office don’t expect to make this a quick trip, Bajan way of life is very leisurely and (other than the yellow buses ) everything takes twice as long as you calculated..but hey! You are on holiday in Barbados.

Superb restaurants abound on the West Coast, a short walk to the left is Daphnes, Italian Carribbean beachside dining, special but pricey. BLUE MONKEY, just across the road. Scarlett's to the left a few minutes walk away.

There are several little local café/bars where local flying fish and macaroni pie and a Banks beer is extremely inexpensive, and should you wish to rub shoulders with the mega rich and famous Sandy Lane, one of the most expensive and exclusive hotels in the world is the next bay around, they have an amazing golf course round the corner too with corresponding amazing green fees!!! (lovely tropical flowers though and it costs nothing to peep!).

Our housekeepers will be pleased to cook for you if you give them a bit of warning and fancy an evening of pampering and relaxation. There are some great nightclubs, The Boatyard, Harbour Lights, for those who can stay awake late enough & fantastic restaurants within walking distance.

All sorts of activities are available, horseriding along sunset beaches being one. Everything watery in it, on it, under it, above it . Jetskiing, waterskiing, para gliding, diving, glass bottom boat trips to visit the turtles and see the reef. Catamaran and pirate ship cruises, some quite genteel and relaxing and others extremely riotous and boozey something for everyone!!
